moe. Celebrates 35 Years of Legendary Jam Band Magic at The Wilbur

moe. Returns to Boston for Two Nights of Musical Brilliance

Boston’s jam band fans are in for something special this November. The legendary rock innovators moe. will light up The Wilbur Theatre with two unforgettable nights of music, celebrating 35 years of fearless improvisation, humor, and brotherhood. The shows take place Thursday, November 20 and Friday, November 21, promising deep cuts, crowd favorites, and the signature onstage chemistry that has made moe. one of the most beloved live acts in America.

Formed at the University of Buffalo in the late 1980s, moe. quickly became a cornerstone of the American jam band scene, earning loyal fans through endless touring, wild creativity, and a refusal to play it safe. Over the decades, they’ve shared the stage with legends like The Allman Brothers Band, Dave Matthews Band, The Who, and members of The Grateful Dead, carving out their own place in rock history.

The Circle of Giants Era

The band’s latest album, Circle of Giants (ATO Records), stands as a testament to their resilience and artistry. Written during a period of both renewal and personal loss, the record captures moe.’s ability to turn grief into transcendent sound. Tracks like “Yellow Tigers,” “Bat Country,” and “Living Again” showcase everything fans love about the group: soaring guitar work, rich harmonies, and extended jams that feel alive in the moment.

“Making this record started off joyfully, but then we experienced a severely traumatic event. The way through the darkness was to do what we do—make music,” says guitarist and vocalist Al Schnier.

With the addition of keyboardist Nate Wilson, moe. has found new creative energy. Together with core members Rob Derhak, Chuck Garvey, Vinnie Amico, Jim Loughlin, and Schnier, the six-piece lineup continues to evolve while staying true to the musical spirit that built their legendary fanbase, affectionately known as the Famoe.ly.

A Live Show Like No Other

Known for their genre-defying performances, moe. delivers an experience that feels both intimate and electric. Every show is different, filled with playful improvisation, deep grooves, and unexpected turns that keep fans coming back year after year.

Publications like American Songwriter have praised the band for their “mind-bending musicality,” while NYS Music notes that moe. “has redefined what’s possible within the jam band genre.”

If you’ve never seen them live, The Wilbur’s historic stage is the perfect place to experience the full scope of moe.’s artistry—from psychedelic rock and funk-infused jams to soulful ballads and high-energy anthems.
