Newport Folk Festival Day 2 was packed with more action than the first day. The Hold Steady had some steady rock and roll for the Quad stage, Aimee Mann and John Oates featuring Guthrie Trapp took the Harbor Stage by a storm. The main stage had the more rocking version of Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit and the great jam-rock band Goose. The day ended with Jon Batiste and his friends, who did a literal rain dance. Thankfully the rain held off for the most part, and only cut Batiste's set by 15minutes, still in time for smoked ribs for the closest crowd members.
