🎭 Now Playing: Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York)
May 20 – June 29, 2025
American Repertory Theater, Cambridge
Run time: 2 hours 10 minutes (with intermission)
A wide-eyed Brit. A cynical New Yorker. One chaotic weekend.
Fresh off its UK debut, Two Strangers is a funny, heartfelt, and sharply written musical rom-com that follows Dougal — a romantic optimist arriving in NYC to meet his estranged father — and Robin, his reluctant guide and the bride’s no-nonsense sister.
It’s got cake, chaos, and a killer soundtrack. Critics are calling it “effervescent” (British Vogue) and “a charmer” (The Guardian). If you love shows like Waitress, Once, or The Last Five Years, this one’s for you.
This production contains haze, fog, and flashing lights. Recommended for ages 12+.
