Looking for a Boston theater experience that is equal parts hilarious and thought-provoking? Don’t miss Kristina Wong, Food Bank Influencer — the only solo karaoke musical about emergency food in the history of live theater. This limited-run performance comes to the Robert J. Orchard Stage at Emerson Paramount Center from September 19 through September 21, 2025.

About the Show

Kristina Wong has earned a reputation for turning heavy social issues into bold, unforgettable theater. In Food Bank Influencer, she takes audiences on a journey through America’s complicated relationship with food insecurity. Drawing on her experiences distributing food from New York to the Navajo Nation, Wong uses comedy, karaoke, and sharp commentary to shed light on the realities of emergency food systems.

With her trademark irreverence, Wong asks: how do you make hunger funny? The answer is in the title — It’s a SNAP! — a witty nod to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Expect a mix of biting humor, personal storytelling, and unexpected musical numbers that celebrate and critique the national pastime of giving away (and collecting) free food.
